Child abductor on loose

POLICE said yesterday they were still looking for a man believed to be involved in Tuesday's abduction of a young girl.A one-year-old girl was snatched from her mother near the Sturt Mall on Tuesday, but the 24-year-old man police believe may be responsible has not yet been found.He is alleged to have snatched the child near the corner of Baylis and Tompson streets before running through the Sturt Mall car park.The girl was only taken for a short time before another person returned her to her mother. The man was described as Caucasian and of slim build.At the time of the abduction, he was wearing a red cap, dark top and boardshorts.Anyone with information about the man's whereabouts should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
