Kellie Lofthouse and Joyce Morgan, close friends of Mr Rowley and his long-term partner Bec, have worked tirelessly to organise a fund-raiser trivia night to help the family in their darkest hour.
The grief-stricken family remains in Sydney, with the couple's 16-year-old daughter Anastazia, and their nephew 16-year-old Dylan, continuing to receive treatment for injuries sustained in the collision.
Ms Lofthouse and Ms Morgan have been overwhelmed with the response they have received, with tickets to the event selling out almost immediately.
Ms Morgan said Mr Rowley was loved by all, that he had a generous spirit and was always there to help people in their hour of need.
'It's something we can do to ease her (Bec's) pain," Ms Morgan said.
"He was a family man and we are family people."
More than 120 people are expected to attend the trivia night, which Ms Morgan said would be very "emotionally charged".
Mr Rowley's best friend Danial Lofthouse will host the evening.
Described by Ms Morgan as a "bit of a mad scientist" Mr Rowley has been remembered as a man who was "larger than life" and loved to tinker in his garage and work on his car.
Ms Morgan praised the Wagga community, saying everyone had done their best to reach out and support Mr Rowley's family.
The pair plans to hold more fund-raising events in the near future.
"The family are going to need a lot of support," Ms Morgan said.
