John and Marcia Lane, who have grazed cattle on their Galore property “Fairview” for 60 years, made the miraculous discovery a fortnight ago after initially thinking she gave birth to just twins.
“It’s pretty rare,” Mr Lane said. “You get a few twins, but never triplets. It’s pretty surprising, it never happens.”
Mr Lane said he was feeding one of the calves when they realised there was another, thinking it was a twin. But he soon realised their mother had another little one with her to confirm the incredibly rare act of having triplets.
“We’ll let them grow up a bit (before we decide what to do with them), they’re still quite small,” Mr Lane said.
