HUNDREDS of homes in Central Wagga have been left without power tonight as the city gets soaked by a heavy downpour.

The unplanned outage was reported at 7.02pm, according to the Essential Energy power outage website.
There have been 891 customers left without electricity with the outage spanning from Edward Street to beyond Kincaid Street, across to the Olympic Highway and over to Murray Street.

Essential Energy have not reported the cause of the power outage at this stage, but crews are investigating the problem to determine the reason.
There is currently no estimated time to indicated when the power will return to the hundreds of households affected in the central area.
Residents can report fallen powerlines, network damage, fires or trees contacting powerlines to Essential Energy on 13 20 80 or call Triple-0 if the situation is life threatening.
