Awarded in the category of Most Outstanding Studio or Music School for Grade Five, the conservatorium's Director Hamish Tait said it was just the motivation they needed after a tough year.
"What it really highlighted was that our teachers continued to keep on the ball throughout last year and keep the quality of teaching high despite the super difficult circumstances," he said.
"There has been a definite energy drain over the last 12 months for a lot of people, so this recognition has given us all some extra energy to show it really is worthwhile."
IN OTHER NEWS:
While not entirely in the clear yet on the COVID-19 front, Mr Tait said the conservatorium was looking forward to a brighter year ahead.
"Construction is starting for the new campus, classes are becoming more face-to-face and we are all feeling really optimistic," he said.
"I think it's comforting to know that music has remained very strong in the community through recent trials, and our teachers and students have been working incredibly hard to achieve such a fantastic result."
